- Thursday 11:50 AM Bank Q1 net profit rose 23% to $35.3B - the highest since Q2 2007 - as revenue rose 3.1% to $169.6B, the FDIC says in is quarterly report. However, loan balances fell $56.3B (0.8%) after three consecutive quarterly increases. Lower provisions for bad loans were a factor in the profit improvement. (PR) [Financials]
- Monday 8:10 AM JMP Securities cuts the TBTF banks due to the European crisis, with analyst David Trone's base case scenario (60% chance) seeing a Greek exit, but no contagion. He sees just a 10% chance Greece stays in the EMU. That leaves 30% for exit, but with contagion. [Financials]
