Thanks for a balanced article (hard to find) on gold. Brave of you, considering the gold bug's religious zeal.It seems absurd that gold and miners are plummeting at the same time the treasury is printing money at a blistering rate, but the market is irrational, and it looks like the trend remains down for now. I tried to "catch the falling knife" by buying miners a couple of weeks ago, but I think I'll take my medicine and get out for now. Reply

We wouldn't have to talk abot opec if we pushed harder for solar, windmills, nuclear energy, and yes bullet trains across this vast U.S.A.. I'm sure France , Germany or Japan would help us build these modern 20th Century trains. Then we could tell the Muslims to shove their oil where the sun doesn't shine. Replyack

I found it interesting that OPEC may cut back on its oil production as demand slows. I made this point, to friends, that if and when we drill for oil, OPEC could cut back production to keep prices up and that there would be little benefit to the American consumers who want to drill drill drill now! "Russia is actually responding to diplomatic pressure and pulling troops out of Georgia while being villified in the WSJ."I don't think that Russia is going back to the prewar position thanks to any diplomatic pressure. Russia has made its objectives very clear from the moment the South Ossetia offensive started by Georgia.

No doubt the markets are over supplied for a while, but wait until the global slow down sets in hard. OPEC will celebrate the past and hope it comes by again. As for Iran, One must suspect that they wish all this nuclear talk had been kept secret, but as Dr. Strangelove once said, " it does not do any good to have the bomb if you do not talk about it". He might have been correct, but it still makes the world nervous. ReplyGive Gold Less Attention [view article]

I found news of OPEC and Iran's "threat" the most interesting news. What's up with Mazel Tov wishes? ReplyGive Gold Less Attention [view article]
Excuse me, but what the hell are you TRYING to say (that is believable)???C'mon Bill, s..t or get off the pot.
If you WISH you had the intestinal fortitude to BUY gold/silver, just look around. The economy is in shambles. It isn't going to get better in MY lifetime. Therefore, my choice is simple: BUY it!
You, and anyone else in their 50s or younger BETTER buy it, because it will be UGLY if you don't!
But, please, don't whine and feel sorry for "gold bugs", we KNOW what we are doing! Reply
